~*Love & Flaws*~

"Never try to change a person you love, because the very effort to change them says that you love half, and that the other half of the person is not accepted." - Osho

"Every challenge in life is a gift.  And if it does not feel like a gift, that means you haven't learned its lesson yet."  -  Anita Moorjani

If I have to change myself for another, that's not love. Maybe it's lust. Or companionship. But it's not love. Because real love is unconditional. And unconditional love is blind. It accepts all flaws. It doesn't judge. It doesn't require change. Unconditional love sees past exteriors & focuses on what's inside.

I've come to understand that our flaws are actually some of our greatest gifts. They make us unique, special, and of course, human. The challenges our flaws provide teach us valuable life lessons that we simply couldn't learn otherwise. They also allow us to discern who truly loves us unconditionally. By trying to be perfect, we actually make it harder for ourselves to find people who genuinely like us for who we truly are.

Loving others unconditionally means accepting all of their flaws. It means loving them no matter what they do, look like, feel like, etc. It also means not trying to control them. It means allowing them to do what they want, even if you disagree with it or it doesn't involve you.

"Love is not possession, love is appreciation." - Osho.

You don't have to be with someone in order to love them. If you love them unconditionally enough, you should want them to be happy, even if it is not with you.

And if you truly love yourself, you won't let anyone treat you differently. You won't go searching for validation in other places. People learn how to treat you by watching how you treat yourself, so act accordingly. Value yourself enough to do what's best for you and your life. Love yourself unconditionally and express your own unique truth.

"If you are searching for the one person who will change your life, take a look in the mirror."

Honorable Mention Favorite Products

In the blog post above I picked out my top 10 favorite products of all time. I had a hard time picking some products over others so I wanted to do this post as well to list some of my other favorites. These are my honorable mentions :)

1. Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover
I love this eye makeup remover because it takes the makeup off quickly and is very gentle. It doesn't sting your eyes at all & removes a lot of makeup at once. I also like Chanel's eye makeup remover, but the Mary Kay one seems to be less harsh so I prefer it.

2. Ben Nye Banana Powder
This is what I set my makeup with everyday, as I mentioned in my How To: Neutral Mac Makeup Look blog post. I love how yellow it is and a little goes a long way. It's heavy enough to keep my makeup in place all day, but not nearly as heavy as a powder like MAC Studio Fix for example, which is a powder foundation.

3. Bare Minerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
My favorite makeup brush of all time. I use it to highlight with powder. It is perfect for highlighting undereyes. I have yet to see a brush like this from any other brands but maybe it's because I'm just not looking.

4. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in "Bootycall"
This is a very pretty shade of eyeshadow. It is white with pink undertones. It swatches heavily and is perfect for highlighting underneath the brow bone, under the eyes, in the corner of eyes, above the cupid's bow, etc.

5. MAC Oil Control Lotion
This is the moisturizer I apply before anything else. It controls oil but also provides the perfect base for the application of makeup. It's not too thick but not too light; it's the perfect moisturizer to use before applying primer and foundation.

6. MAC Studio Fix Powder
This is the powder I use to highlight with. I use the shade NC15, which is the lightest shade with yellow undertones. I like Studio Fix powder because it's thick and won't budge. Some girls use it as their foundation, but I have always preferred using a liquid foundation with a lighter setting powder and Studio Fix Powder as a highlight.

So there are my six other honorable mention products. For more information on the products I use in my everyday look, view my other makeup tutorial post.
